VESICA PISCIS WINTER SHOE COLLECTION
WHAT EXACTLY IS OUR WATER RESISTANT FABRIC?
Our usual canvas fabric is made of recycled cotton and polyester. We have adhered a PU resin by heat that helps repel liquids.
This resin is characterized for being hydrophobic but does NOT contain fluoride.
The fluoride used in water-resistant finishes is polluting and also hinders the biodegradability and recyclability of fabrics.
HOW THIS WINTER COLLECTION WORKS ?
For light rains, the fabric works correctly.
For heavy and lasting rains, it is possible that the fabric fails to repel all the water and therefore ends up wetting the inside of the shoe.
In both situations, after using the shoes during the rain, it is recommended to remove the removable insoles and let the shoes dry.
They are NOT WATERPROOF.
We must bear in mind that all of our shoes are sewn but not glued, so we allow the shoe to be recycled at the end of their useful life.
Although the fabric repels water, if you put your foot into water, the shoe will get wet
It is possible that the shoe shows areas with a worn tone or whitish hue in the folds of the fabric when used. This happens due to temperature changes on the water repellent resin.
If you don't like this possible worn effect, you can easily remove it with heat. Using a hair dryer.
CAN I WASH MY WATER RESISTANT SHOES?
It is recommended to wash by hand or in a washing machine once per season. Remove the PU recycled removable insole before washing. We recommend washing with cold water and natural soap. Always let dry at room temperature in a dry place without direct light.
