VESICA PISCIS WINTER SHOE COLLECTION
At Vesica Piscis we design and manufacture footwear that is designed to be durable and timeless, although we make an exception when winter arrives, because we all like to be comfortable and above all protect ourselves from the cold, which is why we have our winter collection, which is characterised by its certified organic cotton lining (GOTS) and its fluorine-free water-repellent fabric.
Sheepskin made of organic cotton
In winter, keeping warm is a priority that no one overlooks and our feet would be no less. That's why in our winter collection we line the inside with slippers and boots, so that you feel more protected from low temperatures. We do it with organic cotton (GOTS certified) that simulates the soft and fluffy lamb, a 100% vegan alternative that can not miss in our collection.
Water-repellent recycled fabric
To the low temperatures of the winter we must add the inclemency of the weather, which between the humidity and the rain, can make our feet suffer. That's why we've incorporated the usual fabric, made from polyester and recycled cotton, a state-of-the-art fluorine-free PU finish that helps repel liquids.
One of our priorities for our fabric to be able to apply a water-repellent finish is that it should be free of fluorine, as normally all finishes on products such as footwear and water-repellent materials contain fluorine, a substance that is toxic to humans and the environment.
Our trainers and boots are 'not waterproof' but water-repellent. This means that the fabric used does not allow liquids to pass through, keeping your feet insulated, although depending on the circumstances this may not be the case.
Because our models are designed for a circular economy, they have not been sealed, but sewn. This feature may cause water to penetrate in rain or snow, so you should take this into account if you are looking for waterproof footwear. Our winter collection is designed for an 'urban' life, being able to withstand low temperatures and rain with little density and intensity.
In the event that water penetrates the inside of the shoe, the most advisable thing to do is to remove the removable insoles and leave them to dry.
Washing for winter shoes
In case you need to clean your winter shoes, you can do it by hand or in the washing machine (choose a cold and short program (max. 24ºC / 75,2ºF and use natural soap). We recommend that you wash* them alone, or at least without any clothes that could fade, and that you let them dry at room temperature in a dry place without direct light. It is important to remove the recycled PU inserts before washing.
*We recommend washing your winter clothes once or twice a year, as after 10 washes the water-repellent material begins to lose its qualities
